<b>Quote :</b> TarkusAB- I have heard that servers running on linux usually run better than other servers.
Random thought - getting a server would also be a good time to get the new domain (biofox.com or biofox.whatever)

We could host our own forums there (id be happy to write them)

And ill talk to dad later about one of the random compies
the new url should definately be biofox.com
Yea, new url is probably the top advantages, besides the space wed have compared to now and what other web languages we can use (at the moment, I cant use any php or any useful things, just straight html). <a href="http://www.biofoxgames.com" target="_blank">www.biofoxgames.com</a> might be better, just to allude to the fact that we make games.
dad says we can find an old computer to stip down and use, but it cant live at my house

:-(

Whoevers house it is at will need a static IP address - which costs a bit (or perhaps we can find a DNS service which will allow us to use a dynamic)

anyway, well probaly all need to but in a bit per month to run it

edit: biofox.com is taken, so thats a no

biofoxgames.com is available, so i guess its gotta be that
Maybe it could be at my house, Im not sure though, Ill have to talk to my dad about it.
One more thing - if we get a viwereship (however small) and use googles ads on the site, we can actually let it pay for part of itself (even if its somewhat small)

Looking in to lowest cost method
We would get money with google ads, that would be sweet.
wed have to go to the bank and set up a seperate account or something.. and have whatever pay services draw on that account

and any money not in there from google that we need to pay we can drive down and deposit

easy, no credit cards, no identity theft
How much are we talking from google ads? I mean, would it be enough to support the server without any extra costs? I still have to talk with my dad about the server, although Im not sure if would be able to.
