I'm gearing up to get back on track with working on the site. The list of things I wanted to do with the site (which was in my head >.<) is long lost. I've only got a couple things that I remember:
1 New tracker
2 Upgrade email system (include proper logging, link removal/filtering, image filtering (did you know someone can pwn your computer by making you look at an image?))
3 Forum fixes (notably making all the missing images appear)
4 change forums to use same menu code as rest o site (backend change, its really just 2 different files and I need to change 1 reference)
5 Forum retheme/finish theme
6 News posting/editing interface
7 Some sort of content management/easy editing
So, what do you guys want to see?
Add get rid of this damned forum to that list. Its pissed me off by breaking one too many times. I told it NO SMILES in that last post... And besides, since when does < ) == <)
PS: maybe or new forum will allow such things as *gasp* uploads and *attachments*! (I dont trust this shit enough... Anything you try to upload on this forum goes to /dev/null -- or rather, nowhere)
Comments on news and user accounts (probably linked to current/new forum)
-Could also be used to track downloads by registered users (but reg. not required). Users could then look back at their own download history
This would make it a bit more of a blog format, but instant feedback like that can't be all bad?
I cant be the only one who has ideas for upgrades. Anythings game, just let me know what you want.
I think the forums are ok the way they are.
Well they definitely have some very obviously bugs, ie. my signature and avatar randomly disappearing and the aforementioned smiley problem. Like I said though, it wouldn't be top on my list.
These forums bug me because I cant really make any changes, things dont quite work properly, and theres a new (security) upgrade every 3rd week. Its to the point where I start making insecure things not work rather than go through the pin in the ass that is upgrading these. Oh, and half the time I'm not acually TOLD when theres an upgrade, even though I'm on the mailing list to have such done.
Worst is, I havent actually modified the underlying code of the forum -- just dumped it into our site shell, and its this screwed up.
Admittedly, since only we really make use of the forums, its not a huge priority for me either, but I'd like to abandon this software if I can. I hate shoddy coding, shoddy notifications of (important!) updates, and shoddy results!
I just want to see my poor signature again! =(
Just a few other small site maintenance points that I want fixed:
-The sectional links on the goodies page, not sure what those would be?
-Take off all the world order goodies, and add the BioFox desktop that I know we had (or maybe I have and never gave you?)
-When clicking contact us, there is still a link to our old forum
-Revenge 2 can be shown at 8% (this is actually semi accurate as I used a calculator and a list of features =D )

-Sectional links = sort by type. I'm too lazy to do, so no idea what ill do with it.
-I have that desktop. I've been putting it to good use! I'll put it up, but I may have lost the original file

- Perhaps. Perhaps we should list out who to keep instead of who to remove
Also, remove World Order from the "Games" page, and add Revenge 2.
Only 8% done with that game? Wow, still a lot to go.
Larry can be taken off the staff list. I don't think he'll care either.
